If you do not lack creativity and bold solutions are not foreign to you, you can respond to the challenge Challenges for Circular Economy & Sustainable Living in Space and on Earth. The European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Innovation Council (EIC) are thus joining forces to come up with ideas for implementing circular economy technologies and sustainable processes in space. The process of submitting an idea is not so time consuming, so it is worth looking at. This option will only be open until March 1, 2022.

Who can get the grant?

Entities in any EU Member State can participate in the call.

What activities will I receive a grant for?

ESA and the EIC were partly driven by the experience of the MELiSSA project and selected four specialized areas:

  1. Circular System Design Methodology
  2. Circular Waste Management
  3. Circular Urine Management
  4. Circular Food Management

The EIC and ESA look forward to ideas on critical technological building blocks, policies, legislation and investment frameworks in the above areas.

What can I get?

This call does not provide any financial benefit. The ideas will be evaluated and the winning contributors will be invited to a workshop to develop a joint strategy proposal for the coming decade.

It is therefore more of a nature of remuneration which cannot be expressed in money.

How and when to apply?

Fill in the application form according to the instructions in it and send it by e-mail to EIC-ESA.WhitePaper@ec.europa.eu by midnight on 1 March 2022.

The results of the evaluation will be published on April 1, 2022.
